Experience the legendary Mavis Staples live in the historic Cistern Yard. Hailed by NPR as “one of America’s defining voices of freedom and peace,” Mavis Staples is a once-in-a-generation artist whose impact on music and culture is difficult to overstate. At 85 years old, she’s both a Blues and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer; a three-time GRAMMY Award winner; a National Arts Awards Lifetime Achievement recipient; one of Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Singers of All Time; and a Kennedy Center honoree. Her powerful voice and timeless message will leave you deeply moved.
