Sponsor Composer Osvaldo Golijov’s 2016 Residency at Spoleto Festival USA
Composer Osvaldo Golijov’s work has been celebrated for decades around the globe and has a rich program history as part of Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC. Mr. Golijov has been part of the Festival’s chamber music series for 20 years, through numerous performances of his compositions, including well-loved pieces and world premieres, and through several residencies, most recently in 2011.
To celebrate Spoleto Festival USA’s 40th season, the Festival’s Director for Chamber Music Geoff Nuttall is bringing Mr. Golijov back to Charleston this May to be the chamber series composer-in-residence. Spoleto Festival USA is seeking a sponsor for Mr. Golijov’s residency. By supporting the Festival in this way, you will help provide Spoleto audiences with an intimate understanding of one of the most sought-after composers working today, and because this residency will include the world premiere of a new piece, you will have the rare opportunity to help in the creation of music history.
The new piece will be performed by baritone Tyler Duncan and the St. Lawrence String Quartet, and is just one of five Golijov works that will be heard during the 2016 season.
Solo: Display the virtuosity of your philanthropy with a gift of $10,000.
Duet: Harmonize with a partner to the tune of $5,000 each.
Quartet: Weave four gifts of $2,500 together to create the perfect counterpoint.
To learn more about this opportunity or to make a gift to support Mr. Golijov’s residency at the 2016 Festival, please call the Development office at (843) 724-1192.
