Bank of America Chamber Music Program V
Overview
This program features one of Biber’s Baroque “Rosary Sonatas” as well as one of Mozart’s famous piano concertos performed in a chamber music configuration and featuring Inon Barnatan. Inside these iconic works are pieces by Suzan D. Boyd Composer-in-Residence Allison Loggins-Hull and contemporary composer Lu Yun. Yun’s work is inspired by a trip to Longshan Temple and portrays both the serenity of meditation and the contrasting, joyous festival that takes place there. Loggins-Hull’s composition for flute, string quartet, and electronics, according to the composer, is “inspired by concepts of perseverance, motivation, and positive outlook.”
