Bank of America Chamber Music Program III
Overview
Isabella Leonarda’s third “sonata” delivers a glistening, upbeat Baroque opening to this program, which concludes with one of Brahms’ iconic Romantic piano quartets. Linking these works, Tate’s Pisachi, meaning “Reveal” in Chickasaw, is an homage to the American Indian Southwest, inspired by Pueblo and Hopi styles that celebrate the dynamic and joyous times of youth.
