Bank of America Chamber Music Program I
Overview
Kicking off an exciting year of Chamber Music at Spoleto. The program celebrates American expression in the 250th year of the country through the timeless “Tin Pan Alley” tunes of Joplin and Gershwin alongside the intimacy of contemporary American composer Paola Prestini’s solo piano work. The celebration concludes with Dvořák’s “American” quartet written during an inspiring trip the composer made to the US in the 1890s, which led him to compose many of his best-known works.
