Spoleto Festival USA returns this spring, and The Post & Courier is highlighting the excitement in its feature, “Spoleto Festival USA Announces a Star-Studded Lineup.” The festival runs May 22–June 7 with over 110 performances across opera, dance, theater, and music.

Author Kalyn Oyer highlighted that the Festival is coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States, and is shaped by a theme of freedom of expression.

“Freedom of expression is at the heart of why this festival exists…our 2026 season invites audiences to experience bold new work, revisit enduring masterpieces and encounter artists who compel us to listen, reflect and imagine together.” – General Director and CEO Mena Mark Hanna

Festival highlights include U.S. premieres of Mary, Queen of Scots by Scottish Ballet and Dido and Aeneas by Circa, Broadway star Patrick Page’s All the Devils Are Here, landmark performances by the Festival Chorus and Orchestra, and the return of Live at the Cistern, featuring Brandi Carlile, Molly Tuttle, Indigo Girls, Emmylou Harris, and more.
