Beyond the headlines
A New York Times Critic’s Pick
In the months following the 2014 shooting of teenager Michael Brown, Dael Orlandersmith conducted interviews with dozens of shaken Ferguson community members, from teachers and students to policemen and ministers. These intimate conversations formed eight characters with a broad spectrum of perspectives—collectively offering a haunting reminder of America’s ongoing struggle with racism and justice. Hailed as a triumphant tour-de-force one-woman play, Until the Flood “achieves a great beauty by bringing us together rather than driving us apart” (The Chicago Tribune).
This production contains adult themes, language, and references to violence.
