A slice of the Big Easy in the Cistern
Is there a better way to kick off Spoleto’s 45th season than with the preeminent New Orleans jazz band in the Cistern Yard? On May 28, celebrate the ebullience, depth, and range of Preservation Hall Jazz Band, which has delighted audiences for 60 years. Under the leadership of Ben Jaffe, this rousing septet carries forward a sonic continuum that stretches back to the city’s beginnings and redefines what New Orleans music is today.
