Middleton Place

We believe that Spoleto Festival USA is integrally tied to Charleston, so we couldn’t be more thrilled to feature a Charleston-grown group. Shovels & Rope give voice to this great location, blending the folklore, sass, and heart we associate with the Lowcountry with something distinctly modern. The result is irresistible.

Becca Nicholson, Assistant Box Office Manager

I can’t help but love a husband-wife duo. There’s something about two uniquely creative individuals joining together that creates a special kind of energy. When they perform, it feels almost like they are sharing their life with you on stage. Shovels & Rope offers a great sound paired with incredible songwriting, and they are so much fun to watch – don’t miss them!
