Carlo Colla and Sons Marionette Company pride themselves on their unique, handcrafted marionettes, bringing to mind Spoleto Festival USA’s deep connection to craft of the highest artistic caliber. The spectacular marionettes dance around in front of vibrant, hand-painted scenery while decked out in lavish costumes to illustrate the story of Sleeping Beauty. Children wonder as one of the classic fairy tales is brought to life before their eyes while adults reconnect with their childhood and enjoy some cheeky cameo appearances by characters from other stories. Called “. . . simply a gorgeous and glorious spectacle” by The New York Times, this presentation of Sleeping Beauty is not to be missed!
