  • Linda May Han Oh and Fabian Almazan: Two cutting-edge jazz artists take up a six-performance residency at Festival Hall for which no two concerts are alike. Fun facts: Fabian Almazan created his own environmentally-conscious record label, “Biophilia,” and Linda Mah Han Oh can be seen in animated form in Disney’s Soul. (June 2 – 6; Festival Hall)
  • Tyshawn Sorey, for Orchestra: Three of the MacArthur Genius’s works are performed by the Festival Orchestra, including one that the composer himself leads by what he calls “spontaneous composition” in tandem with the musicians. (June 6; Sottile Theatre))
  • Until the Flood: Sure, it’s straight theater. But Obie-winning and Pulitzer finalist Dael Orlandersmith plays all eight characters in this moving play about Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. (June 3 – 6; Festival Hall)
  • Unholy Wars: A world premiere from Grammy Award-winning tenor Karim Sulayman mixes contemporary dance, new music, baroque opera, and detailed animation for a multidisciplinary production that flips traditionality on its head. (May 29 – June 6; Dock Street Theatre)
