Founded in 2000, The Charleston Horticultural Society  is a non-profit organization with membership open to all. The Society offers a wide array of horticultural information and involvement to its more than 1,300 individual and business members through lectures, educational workshops, garden tours, special events, and publications.

Charleston Library Society

From its inception more than 260 years ago, the Charleston Library Society has been a cornerstone of intellectual and cultural life in Charleston. Today it is a center for scholarly research, a modern lending library, and an oasis of calm in the middle of Downtown Charleston. All are invited to join. Open Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm; Saturday, 9:30am – 2:00pm.

Middleton Place

4300 Ashley River Road

Begun in 1741, America’s oldest landscaped Gardens reflect elegant symmetry with sculpted terraces, parterres and pools. The House Museum interprets the lives of the Middletons with an extraordinary collection of family belongings, while the Living History Stableyards recreate activities of a working plantation. The National Historic Landmark is owned by the Middleton Place Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit educational trust, dedicated to historic preservation. Open 9:00am – 5:00pm daily.
